Lime has been used in building construction for thousands of years to create durable mortar and plaster. It is the near carbon neutral property that made it a compelling choice for natural building.
There has been growing interest in bamboo based construction in recent times owing to increased cost of depleting conventional materials. Bamboo is a strong and resilient material. Unlike timber, it grows incredibly fast in any environment. Also bamboo has high strength weight ratio and maximum energy absorption. There are more than 100 species of bamboo native to India and about 16 of them are recommended for structural use. This got us excited.
